General bits
the world in which this is set is something similar to an urban magic world – more or less everything works w/ the help of magic / magic is pretty common
magic is pretty much the basis of this world – it’s so common that it’s so strange if somebody says that they don’t have it
altho magic-less people do exist ( be it they aren’t some kind of non-human being or don’t have any kind of abilities etc. ) it’s not that common
people refer to this world as The City since it’s essentially one big city which spreads almost endlessly
rumour has it that this used to be a kingdom a very long time ago but nobody knows what happened to cause such a drastic change
many don’t know this for The City is seemingly endlessly expanding but there is an edge where reality splits in half however it’s so far away that only a few have actually reached it
Species inhabiting it
The Winged Folk
people with neon skeletal wings aren’t actually angels altho they are mistaken for them quite often
their wings start out white and depending on the circumstances become coloured – once they start changing colours there is no going back or changing it
perhaps the hue can be changed so they are lighter / darker but other than that it doesn’t work
dyeing them while they are still white won’t work as the dye will start to disappear
while the wings aren’t present at all times ( sometimes requiring looking at them from a certain angle ) people can feel the fact that the person in front of them has them – it’s more along the lines of feeling this strange aura radiating from the other person
The Striga
people who are born with two hearts and two souls, and two sets of teeth ( the second one barely visible )
it is said that they usually die at a young age but in truth, only one of their two souls passes to the afterlife while the other soul causes them to come back to life
when they come back to life, they also lose their humanity; sometimes entirely, sometimes only partially
able to fly at night in the form of an owl
they usually feed in this form, attacking night-time travellers and people who wander off into the woods at night, sucking out their blood and eating their insides
they also herald someone’s imminent death, usually via long hooting noises
often presented with bird-like features: claws, eyes, feathers growing off the back
their humanity ( or the first soul ) can be brought back if a courageous person manages to sleep inside their grave or tomb for the whole night when they are out for a hunt, up until hearing the third crow of a rooster at dawn
The Cat Sidhe
resembles a large black cat with a white spot on its chest
can steal a person’s soul, before it’s claimed by the gods, by passing over a corpse before burial
attracted by warmth, catnip, riddles, and music
can transform voluntarily into their cat form and back nine times altho if done nine times, they will remain a cat for the rest of their lives
can also bring good luck if a milk saucer is left out on Halloween otherwise, they are known to curse people

The Teumessian Fox
a gigantic fox that was destined never to be caught
in their human form, they are said to wear baggy clothing as to hide their hands and thus sharper fingernails, beanies to hide fox ears and so on and so forth
The Gargoyle
known to stand guard and ward off evil spirits and frighten away other creatures that sought harm
at night they come to life and protect while one is asleep and vulnerable
they come to life permanently when their link to the church they are bound to is severed
this only happens if the church is burned down or otherwise destroyed
The Selkie
changing from seal to human form by shedding their skin
the killing of a seal would result in misfortune for the perpetrator
gentle souls who prefer dancing in the moonlight over luring sailors to their death
although make no mistake, they will kill if feeling endangered or one of their kind has been killed first
The Sphynx
has the head of a human and the body of a lion and sometimes the wings of a bird
can be seen in their human form as well in which they keep most of their lion-like features and their wings
viewed as benevolent, but having ferocious strength
while their riddles may no end in death, that doesn’t mean they won’t play w/ their prey

Personality: it’s like crossing the hyperactivity of a puppy w/ the laziness of a cat. Add a dash of trickster and you’ve got yourself a pretty good idea of what Asterin is like. Always in high spirits, loving and affectionate as all hell and generally in a pretty good mood.

Appearance: made of stone, Niran’s appearance is as good as it gets. Their skin is dark grey, almost bluish or blackish depending on the lightning w/ little bits of everything else like sand or marble or other construction materials due to how many times they’ve been repaired.
They are missing their right eye, a gaping hole having been left behind until they came into the care of Quinn and Miles in which moment they were offered a ruby that slotted inside perfectly.
Their wings have been shattered at some point, most likely while they were on the run once the church they were bound to was burnt down. Likewise, they’ve been given a new pair made out of stained glasses once they were picked up off the streets.
WEARS HUMAN CLOTHES. For the love of everything, they aren’t naked by any means.
Personality: ever curious, Niran is a natural at getting into trouble. Likely bc they’ve never ventured past the church’s grounds and thus never really came into contact with others ( gargoyles or otherwise ) so they always put their curiosity above their well being. Almost childish, no scratch that, a literal child at heart, it’s hard to stay mad at them for too long.

Appearance: Can easily pass as a commoner seal due to his brownish shade of colour instead of the usual bright white / grey one would expect. Has several spots on his back ( some of which almost look like constellations if they weren’t so big ) while his tail is missing a decent chunk from being chomped on by a shark when he was younger.
In his human form, Kai seems to prefer baggy clothing and as many layers as possible. It’s not that he is cold but rather as a means of protection for he feels nigh naked w/o all of them. Can be seen wearing tank tops + at least two shirts and another, thinner, one on top before he even thinks of putting his hoodie on. Ripped jeans and sneakers complete his usual attire. The shy kid in rebellious clothes? Ofc. He’s on the run after all. Gotta hide somehow.
Also in his human form, the shark bite is represented via an angry scar on his right foot in the form of teeth. It never healed right.
Personality: Sweet summer child. Timid, shy, introverted. Probably scared of his own shadow if left alone for too long. Definitely, nothing one would expect from the prince that one day will become king of the waters surrounding a good portion of The City.

Clothing wise, she wears black robes w/ golden designs and heavy boots underneath for that sweet, terrifying booming noise effect when she walks.
Personality: The big sister you never knew you needed. Centuries old so she’s perfected the disappointed look. Will calmly sip her coffee and tell anybody to sit their asses down unless they want to face her wrath. Protective and won’t hold back from unleashing curses on whoever wrongs her siblings.

This blog is (s)low activity permanently. This isn’t bc I don’t want to write w/ you. It’s bc my replies tend to get long and that takes a lot of my energy to get through. Sometimes I also get interested in other things and disappear. I can take up to a month to reply sometimes simply bc the energy is not there. You can poke me about the status of threads but please be considerate.
When we become mutuals, make sure to check my interest check spreadsheet! It lets me know who you are interested to interact w/ instead of letting me guess and hope for the best.

Please don’t assume relationships! I ship only based on chemistry. Chances are that I already ship it so IM me! This blog is multiship w/ each ship in its own universe so nobody is cheating. I’m picky about romantic ships. There must be a lot of chemistry between muses (and I mean a lot) for me to ship it.
I’m open to new friendships as well. Not everything revolves around romantic shipping.
Do keep in mind that not all muses are romantic ship available! You will notice this when you read the profiles but there are already established relationships between the muses and I WILL NOT change these.

I am willing to do teasing and even further, but only if our muses are very close and we talk a lot ooc. Fade to blacks are also an option. Other types of NSFW (gore etc.) are welcome as long as they are discussed.
Given Tumblr’s new rule to purge posts tagged as simply ’ nsfw ’ from any and all other tags, my nsfw tag is spicy content //.
Most of the time I do not read more smut. Mainly bc I’m never sure when it becomes too much.
I don’t have any triggers, but I will try my best to tag stuff. Don’t be afraid to IM me or send an ask if I missed something!

Add context to asks. Sometimes even a sentence along w/ the dialogue can make a difference. Not only is this something you’re more than welcome to do, I fully encourage you to do so. Likewise you won’t see one sentence asks from me.
When I answer asks, please like them to show me that you’ve seen them. What you do afterwards is up to you but I want to know that I didn’t waste my time and energy on writing them.
I tend to ramble a lot in my replies. While I don’t expect to be matched word for word, I will not tolerate being given two lines to my four paragraphs.
Both things tagged as open starter and status are perfectly fine to be responded to by mutuals! There’s really no difference between them.
